Mounties knock off four foes

H.S. golf: Coach Albright gets 100th win

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Philipsburg-Osceola picked up four wins, and coach Jordan Albright notched his 100th career victory in high school boys golf action Wednesday at Scotch Valley Country Club.

P-O won with a score of 322 over Tyrone (340), host Hollidaysburg (342), Punxsutawney (342) and Saint Joseph's (431).

The Mounties' Brandon Singer led the way by shooting a 79, which tied Jake Taylor of Tyrone. Ky Bender and Keegan Soltis each shot 80s for P-O.

Hollidaysburg's Eric Davis carded an 81, and the day's low score went to Punxsuwaney's Ryan Roberts, who shot a 78 for medalist honors.

EBENSBURG -- Brian Walwro's medalist score of 35 helped Central Cambria edge Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic by one stroke, 214-215, at the Ebensburg Country Club.

Somerset defeated the Red Devils, 207-214.

Kyle Goss carded a 41 for the Marauders.

The Central Cambria girls also competed, and Jaylee Sikora finished with a 42.

Portage wins

CRESSON -- Austin Gentile, Ethan Dyche and Jon Brickley all carded a score of 48 to tie for team-best honors and lead Portage to a 245-271 victory over Conemaugh Valley in a high school boys match played at the Summit Country Club course.

Max Herman shot a 49 for Portage, which improved to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the WestPAC. Casey Cruse carded a medalist score of 46 for Conemaugh Valley (1-3, 1-2).

Williams leads Everett

EVERETT -- Brighton Williams shot an 87 and earned medalist honors as Everett topped both Bellwood-Antis and Tussey Mountain at Down River Golf and Country Club.

Everett finished with a 377, Bellwood had 455, and Tussey had 550.

Dylan Taylor carded a 90, while Isaiah Schumaker shot a 94 for the Warriors (3-2).

Lady Tigers prevail

PHILIPSBURG -- Taylor Hileman's 49 was the low score for the Hollidaysburg girls, and that carried them to wins over Bellefonte, Clearfield and Philipsburg-Osceola in Mountain League action at the Philipsburg Elks.

Hollidaysburg finished with a 152 and was followed by P-O (156), Clearfield (165) and Bellefonte (169).

Morgan Bihary shot a 50 for the Lady Tigers, and Ashden Stitt had a 53. Lindsey Bordas and Abby Vaux of Philipsburg each shot a 51.
