Kendziora leads Lady Tigers

TYRONE — Rita Kendziora completed her second-half hat trick with a little help from Alyssa Bell as Holildaysburg scored five goals after halftime to shut out Tyrone, 5-0, in high school girls soccer on Saturday.

Bell finished with a goal and two assists, and a fifth Lady Tiger goal was scored by Sidney Pohar.

Makenzie Graham found the back of the net in the second overtime period to lift State College over Altoona at Mansion Park.

Altoona struck first with a goal in the first half from Becca Dull on an assist from Cassie Kyle. The Lady Lions fell to 12-5, while State College improved to 10-6-1.

Bedford wins twice

The Bedford Lady Bisons improved to 13-0 by winning a pair of games with only one goal allowed.

Bedford hosted Bishop Guilfoyle earlier in the afternoon and poured on the offense in a 13-0 shutout of the Lady Marauders.

Amber Thomas had a hat trick with three first-half goals, and Jenna Brown had a second-half hat trick with two assists from Thomas and one from Abby Donaldson. Lindsey Mowry got the shutout in net for the Lady Bisons.

In a road game, Bedford went into halftime tied 1-1 with Everett before it scored five times in the second frame, including four goals from Brown and four Thomas assists, to lift Bedford to a 6-1 win.

Thomas scored the goal before halftime to knot the game at 1-1.

CLEARFIELD — Alyssa Bartley and Averey Black scored successive second-half goals to lift Central over Clearfield in Mountain League action.

Ashley Negley scored with an assist from Bartley to tie the game for the Lady Dragons at the half. The goal put her two shy of 100 for her career. The Lady Dragons play again Monday afternoon against Tyrone.

Ben Stefanovich scored and had an assist for the Little Lions, who improved to 10-4-2.
