James ‘DeH.’ Rosenthall

James “DeH.” Rosenthall, 81, Altoona, passed away suddenly on Wednesday at his residence.
He was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Harry B. and Fannie Rosenthall. On June 29, 1958, he married Audrey S. Sigel.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Michael Rosenthall of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Ronna (Edward) Holliday of Altoona; eight grandchildren: Brynn, Caitlin, Ethan, Paige, Claire, Adam, Dana and James; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Rosenthall of Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harry B. Rosenthall on Jan. 4, 2012.
James was a 1953 graduate of Taylor-Allderdice High School, Pittsburgh, and a 1957 graduate of University of Pittsburgh Pharmacy School. He was the former owner and pharmacist of the Medicine Shoppe.
He was a member of Temple Beth Israel, Altoona, where he was treasurer for many years. He also was a member of Jaffa Temple, past president of Jaffa Oriental Band, past president of Jaffa Shrine Club, and a member of Mountain Lodge, Royal Arch and Pitt Alumni Association.
He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt, and he enjoyed traveling.
Above all, he was a wonderful man whose family meant everything to him.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Temple Beth Israel, Altoona, where a Masonic service will be held at 1:30 p.m. and a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Rabbi Audrey Korotkin officiating. Interment will be at Mount Sinai Cemetery. Arrangements are by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.
