An Altoona man was killed in a motorcycle accident about 1:39 p.m. Saturday, according to state police at Hollidaysburg.
Zachary T. Peterman, 27, was wearing a helmet while traveling north on South Eagle Valley Road, north of Shorb Street, in Snyder Township, when he lost control of his 2017 Suzuki GSXR 600 while negotiating a right curve.
According to police, the motorcycle was dumped to the side and both the cycle and Peterman slid along the roadway, where Peterman impacted a guard rail and rebounded back onto the roadway.
The motorcycle continued to slide north along South Eagle Valley Road and slid off the roadway to the left, coming to rest in a grassy area.
Police said speed was determined to be a factor in the crash.
