Break in reported at 911 tower
State police at Bedford are looking for two unknown males who attempted to break into a 911 communications tower in Southampton Township on March 24.
Between 1:04 a.m. and 1:14 a.m., the males entered the Martin Hill Road 911 communications tower. One male broke the camera and attempted to break and steal materials from the tower. The unknown suspects are thought to have committed a similar offense at another tower in Bedford County.
Police have asked that anyone with information contact state police at 623-6133 and refer to incident number PA19-385915.
Candidates night planned
The Blair Bedford Labor Council will conduct a candidates night featuring candidates for Blair County commissioner and coroner, Logan Township supervisor, Altoona mayor and Altoona City Council and school board candidates from Altoona and Hollidaysburg are invited to attend as well.
This gathering will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Labor Council office, 302 E. Wopsononock Ave., for the purpose of educating our members about the candidates and then endorsing them for election.
