Frankstown Elementary receives STEM grant

Energy Transfer presented a $5,000 check to Frankstown Elementary School students on Friday.

Teacher Jaime Hartline applied for the grant which will support the development of the school’s science, technology, engineering and math classroom initiatives.

School officials plan to spend the money in part for a drone, mud probes to measure energy from decomposing biomatter in soil as well as robotics circuits that students can code and make things, for example, a cardboard cutout of a hand that bends at the fingers.
