A city man faces felony charges after he allegedly threatened his ex-fiancee with a handgun.
Jeffrey D. Pfahler, 19, of Altoona was arrested Saturday after he allegedly pointed a gun to the face of the woman while the two were arguing at their apartment on the 800 block of Second Avenue.
According to Altoona police, about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, a neighbor saw Pfahler leaving the apartment with a handgun tucked in his waistband after the argument.
Police said the woman told officers that Pfahler pointed the gun to her face and said, "You think I won't kill you?" before he ran from the apartment and drove off.
Police said Pfahler already had a protection-from-abuse order filed against him from another woman, and his ex-fiancee filed a protection-from-abuse order against him after Saturday's alleged incident.
Pfahler was taken into custody by Altoona police officers after the alleged incident and arraigned Sunday morning on charges that include felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor illegal possession of a gun.
Pfahler was jailed after his arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Andrew Blattenberger, who set bail at 10 percent of $40,000.
A preliminary hearing at Central Court is scheduled for Jan. 16.
