Police release few details on incident

HOLLDIAYSBURG — A PennDOT employee was killed Thursday while working along a Frankstown Township road, according to PennDOT.

“First and foremost our concern is with the family, our thoughts and prayers go out to them,” District 9 Executive Thomas Prestash said Thursday afternoon. “This is a

devastating loss for the PennDOT family.”

State police had limited details Thursday night but did say they continued to investigate the death of the male, in his 30s, who was working on the berm on Juniata Valley Road, just south of Route 22, in Frankstown Township.

Blair County Coroner Patricia Ross said Thursday evening the man’s name was being witheld pending further notification of family members, but she did confirm he was from the area and was a PennDOT employee.
