BCDA awarded $500K grant

The Bedford County Development Association was awarded a $500,000 grant Tuesday for the construction of a 12,000 square-foot-building for space for future tenants in the Hess Business Center.

The current 39,000 square-foot-business center is almost full. The project is expected to provide space for small businesses to expand and create new jobs.

Gov. Tom Wolf said in a release: “The expansion of this business park will help drive innovation and entrepreneurship in Bedford County by creating a new space to help attract small businesses. Small businesses play a vital role in supporting our state economy, and we’re proud to support their growth statewide.”

State Sen. Wayne Langerholc Jr., R-Cambria, said the construction will be the “catalyst that will drive economic growth, attract new businesses and provide family-sustaining jobs for our people and our region.”
