The Bedford County Historical Society will host its 33rd Annual History Banquet at 6 p.m. April 28 at The Hall at Kinton's Knob, 6441 Lincoln Highway, Bedford.
The society will host military leader General John "Black Jack" Pershing, portrayed by actor and historian David Shuey, in honor of the 100th anniversary of World War I. Shuey will educate attendees about Pershing's military history as part of his national tour that began last year in Kansas City.
At the event, the historical society will also recognize Bertha Restoration Committee members, Jay Speicher, Rocky Fetter and David Shedlock, as 2017 Historians of the Year.
The three men worked to restore Bertha, an American LaFrance fire truck used from 1931-72 by the Bedford Fire Department.
