Farm Bureau plans dinner, meeting

CHEST SPRINGS -- The Cambria County Farm Bureau spring dinner and information meeting will be held March 22 at St. Monica's Church Hall basement, 3037 Colonel Drake Highway (Route 36).

Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.

The cost is $15 at the door.

The county board of directors has decided not to have a guest speaker this year. Instead, a candidate forum will be held, where all candidates in attendance for the state House of Rep­resentatives, governor and U.S. Congress will be given time to speak.

Huntingdon bridge to be replaced

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Construction for the Diamond Valley Road bridge, spanning Shaver Creek in Logan Township, Huntingdon County, is scheduled to begin as part PennDOT's Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

Construction is expected to begin during the week of March 19 and be complete in early July. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Brook­side Road, Barree Road and Juniata Valley Pike Road.

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule might change.
