Blair County Tea Party hosting Freedom Fest

The Blair County Tea Party's annual Freedom Fest will be held May 12 at the Bavarian Hall, 112 S. 13th St.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by going to www.theblaircounty

teaparty.org and clicking on the Eventbrite link. Tickets also will be available at the door.

Freedom Fest was rescheduled due to President Donald Trump's Saturday rally in Harrisburg. All tickets sold for the original date will be valid for May 12. Ticket buyers should contact the seller if they cannot make the new date and want a refund.

Rep. Rick Saccone, candidate for U.S. Senate, and state Sen. Scott Wagner, a Republican gubernatorial candidate, will speak starting at 7:30 p.m.

Saccone served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a senior counterintelligence agent in Iraq. He also lived and worked in South Korea for several years, during which time, he spent time in North Korea and had negotiations with its government. Saccone will share his perspective on the situation in that country.

Saccone has served in the state House since 2010 and will challenge for Sen. Bob Casey's seat in 2018.

Wagner sits on several key Senate committees and has worked on identifying wasteful government spending and fighting Gov. Tom Wolf's tax increases. Wagner will run for governor next year.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner starts at 6:30.

There will be dancing from 9 to 11 p.m. with DJ Bob Taylor, and games throughout the night.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward a $1,000 patriot scholarship. This year's winner will be announced during the event.
