New owner sought for Snap Fitness clubs

Snap Fitness officials said Friday they hope to reopen the Duncansville location that recently closed and the Altoona location that is expected to close Monday.

“We are looking for an owner for both locations. We are currently working with a Snap Fitness area developer in the region to help us keep the Altoona location open. It is our goal to reopen this club quickly,” according to a statement issued by the Snap Fitness corporate office.

The Snap Fitness at

176 Glimcher Drive, Duncansville, closed within the past week and a member at the 228  E. Chestnut Ave., Altoona, location said he received an email saying  that location will close Monday.

However, Snap Fitness has not communicated anything to the members about the club closing on Jan. 23, the company said.

The corporate statement said that closings are a rare occurrence.

“We are taking swift corrective measures to ensure that members are notified and taken care of. At Snap Fitness, we value our members and are committed to correcting this issue to make sure no members are billed for services or memberships they did not use. We have reached out to the owner of this location to ensure members are provided refunds if necessary,” the statement said. “Snap Fitness remains committed to the Altoona region, and we look forward to rebuilding and upgrading the Snap Fitness club experience within the market in the upcoming months.”

The statement also said “parties that are interested in partnering with us are welcome to contact us at 844-LIFTNOW or reach us via email at sales@lift brands.com.”
