Martinsburg Elementary locked down because of trespasser
Martinsburg Elementary School was on lockdown for about an hour Monday morning after a trespasser was reported to be looking through a classroom window, Superintendent Betsy Baker said.
“For students, that’s not something we want to take lightly,” Baker said.
Martinsburg and North Woodbury police cleared the area for school to open its doors again as they found evidence the trespasser had fled, but they continue investigating.
Baker said no one was allowed in or out of the building while the school was on lockdown, but classes proceeded as usual.
