Odor-eliminating product smells like a winner for pet owners

I am the usually the queen of finding “deals” that are too good to be true. However, in this case, I have found a product that, at first, seemed too good to be true but is the “real deal.”

I’m not big on product endorsements, unless they revolutionize my life, but this product has. It’s called Fresh Wave, and I have to share it with you. Full disclosure, I received nothing from Fresh Wave in exchange for this article, other than the free sample that inspired it.

Fresh Wave is a family of natural odor-removing products that have been around for more than 20 years. Sometimes, I’m a slow learner…

But thanks to the Blog Paws pet conference I attend annually, I met the Fresh Wave people and decided to give their product a try. What did I have to lose? I’ve tried everything on the market I think and still was unable to find an odor-eliminating product when it comes to our 10 pets.

Not to be gross (that’s all I tend to be when discussing our brood), but I was at my wit’s end when one of our senior cats climbed onto a pile of my favorite sweatshirts and pants and peed on them. Twice.

The first time this happened, I immediately threw the clothes out. I knew there was no hope for removing cat urine/odor.

The second time this happened, (no I didn’t learn the first time), I was just about ready to throw the pile of clothes out when I remembered I had the sample of Fresh Wave odor removing laundry booster and thought, “Why not?”

I loved those clothes and hated to throw away another pile of my favorite comfy loungewear. (I remedied that situation by finally just removing all my clothes from the bottom shelf of my clothes rack).

I threw the stinky load in the washer and added the Fresh Wave booster with my own detergent. I had no pre-determined expectations. In fact, I was ready to part with this load as well after the washing attempt.

However, when the load was done, I had the most amazing WOW moment! More like an OMG moment! There was no remaining foul smell. No smell at all! Just the fresh scent of Fresh Wave lingering lightly on the clothes!

Still a tad skeptical, I threw some of the items in the dryer and hung a few up to dry.

I figured drying the items might provide a different story, but it didn’t! The clothes smelled fresh and clean and free of gross old cat urine smell.

I have since friended the Fresh Wave website, written love letters to the company and purchased a half dozen large bottles of laundry booster, as well as air freshener discs.

According to their site, Fresh Wave is “a natural product, safe to use anywhere … even near kids and pets.

“When you use Fresh Wave, you can rest assured that you are using a product that will remove odors without doing any harm to you or your family. Every product in the Fresh Wave family is nontoxic, non-

hazardous and effective against any odor imaginable. Total safety win!”

But, that’s not all! They have so many other cleaning products I have yet to even try, including dog shampoo that after a wash or two is guaranteed to remove the ultimate odor of all — skunk spray! You heard it here! And, if the dog shampoo lives up to its word like the laundry booster, I believe them.

But, how does Fresh Wave work? I had to know in detail and got a bit of a science lesson.

According to its website, “Fresh Wave uses a combination of nature and science to eliminate odors completely. So the actual science part can be somewhat complex. It works like this: All odors are molecular compounds. Fresh Wave products work to break apart the chemical bonds that exist between these molecules, rendering them inert.”

There are actually a few retailers who carry Fresh Wave products and you can find them on the Freshwaveworks.com web site by plugging in your zip code or by ordering online.

I now use Fresh Wave in most every load of laundry involving the pets.

It has been a blessing to our household, and I’ll hope you have the same results if you try it.
