Daniel Jude Dodson of Altoona has been accepted into the Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Daniel was nominated earlier this year by U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster, R-9th District.
Daniel is a 2015 graduate of Altoona Area High School and recently attended a luncheon at the Club Cargo Bay Air Force Club in Pittsburgh, where he and eight other appointees were honored by Lt. Col. Richard Cronwell.
Daniel will report to the prep school on July 15 in Colorado Springs.
The school offers a 10-month program of intense academic preparation, military training and athletic conditioning, designed to develop in cadet candidates the skills and character necessary to be successful at the academy.
The academic curriculum is focused on mathematics, English and sciences.
Daniel is the son of Mike and Karen Dodson of Altoona.
