Barbara E. (Walter) Schmidhammer, 85, of Fairlawn, Ohio, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday at Cleveland Clinic. She was born in Claysburg to Amos and Lena (Roudabush) Walter, and was their last surviving daughter.
She married James P. Schmidhammer on June 16, 1962. He predeceased her in May 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice and husband, Brent, of Akron, Ohio; and son, Kevin and his partner, Michael, of Pittsburgh.
Barbara was a Class of 1957 graduate of Greenfield Kimmel High School.
She was employed by Blair County Courthouse in the Court Recorder's office.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
Barbara enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. She also had a deep love of animals, especially cats.
Cremation arrangements have been made by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A private inurnment will take place at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
