Anthony M. "Tony" DeStefano, 61, of Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Friday, surrounded by his family. Tony was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Margaret Brown DeStefano-Dalby and the late Joseph DeStefano.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a brother, David DeStefano.

Tony is survived by the love of his life, Tracie Nail DeStefano, whom he married on Jan. 11, 2014, in Altoona; his children: Anthony M. DeStefano, Jewelen P. DeStefano and Diamond L. DeStefano; his siblings: Robert Grassmeyer, Sherri (Steve) Babbiss of Tuckerton, N.J., Cathy DeStefano Cogan and Angela DeStefano in Florida; his grandchildren: Cassius M. DeStefano, Daylin C. DeStefano, Ryder Z. DeStefano, Maxson J. DeStefano and Iris C. DeStefano; many nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Hunter J. Cogan.

Tony was a 1981 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He worked for North American Communications as a Computer Operations Specialist before retiring after 35 years.

Tony loved spending time with his family, especially shooting pool with his wife, Tracie, at the bar. He loved playing his music very loud, as Tony can be described by many as an audiophile. He loved playing the guitar and collecting knives and guns.

Tony gave in death as he gave in life as an organ donor, a final act of kindness.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Santella Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, with Pastor Shaun Wertz at the Axe & Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St. Burial will immediately follow at Grandview Cemetery.
