As I age it seems obvious that I have mellowed, with, no doubt, more room to grow. At this time, if I may be so bold as to concede, I would like to tip my hat to the 2025 girls soccer team at Bishop Guilfoyle Academy. Yes, my granddaughter Jenna was a gainful contributor, but this past soccer season proved full team worthy. Pat Kraft destroyed what was left of Penn State football. I’ve been a fan and around Penn State football players since 1994. Tied for No. 1 with Nebraska, and we didn’t end up getting the top spot. Had the Big Ten replay official upheld the blade of grass fumble vs. Oregon, the Lions would not have been demoralized, they would have rolled over UCLA and Northwestern, and James Franklin would still be at Lasch. I’ve been saying for years James Franklin has taken Penn State football as far as he can. Little did I know it would be in reverse. What hurts is how it appears that the team, coaches, administration are indifferent to mediocrity. Players seem indifferent and definitely not disciplined (ie: throwing the ball in end zone by the tight end caused PSU to kickoff from 20).
