NFL coaching will benefit Allar
Mailbag
I thought Neil Rudel’s article on Drew Allar was an excellent characterization of his career at Penn State.
Allar had as much if not more talent that any of the quarterbacks we’ve had over the years, but James Franklin’s offensive ineptitude didn’t put him in the best position to succeed, particularly in key moments of the big games.
If he gets with the right team that has the capability to develop him, we may be surprised at the results.

Becht should be upgrade as a leader
I read Neil Rudel’s story on Drew Allar.
I wish he would have been more mobile as a quarterback as it would have given Penn State an added edge against the defense.
I am hoping that Rocco Becht will give us the arm along with the legs (when needed) to get the yardage when required. I expect Becht to be the kind of leader that we wanted Allar to be.
I also think Allar got tight in close situations, but maybe that was just coaching to give him confidence to make the right throw under duress.
