Lots to love about Curve this season

The Curve compiled an overall record of 71-66. They went 33-36 in the first half of the Eastern League season, then played much better in the second half, going 38-30, but still missed out on the playoffs. Nittany Lions’ victory is reason to dance

James Franklin has seen too many coaches who live their lives in misery regardless of the outcome. That’s why he often says he and the Nittany Lions “are going to enjoy winning.” That was definitely the case Saturday as Penn State went into Auburn and came away with a convincing 41-12 victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Sept. squirrel season is a new tradition

The opening days of the mourning dove and early Canada goose seasons on Sept. 1 are well-established traditions in Pennsylvania. The start of the statewide squirrel last weekend on Saturday, Sept. 10, however, is somewhat of a new tradition for early-season hunting here in Pennsylvania. It is the third year of the squirrel season starting in early September rather than the long-established mid-October opener. Freshmen blooming quickly

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State’s future appears to be in good hands. Its present may be, too. The Nittany Lions cruised in their home opener Saturday, blowing out Ohio University, 46-10, before 107,306 at Beaver Stadium. The stars were a pair of freshmen — tailback Nick Singleton and quarterback Drew Allar. Singleton electrified the stadium by rushing for 179 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns — a 70-yarder to put the Lions up 14-0 and a blazing 44-yarder in the third quarter that made it 40-7.
