Altoona wrestling places second the Bison Duals
CLEARFIELD — Altoona went 3-2 and finished as the runner-up at the Bison Duals at Clearfield Area High School on Saturday in high school wrestling.
The Mountain Lions defeated Williamsport, 62-11, Curwensville, 68-3, and State College, 32-27 before losing to General McLane, 33-31, in the challenge round and Montoursville, 34-32, in the championship.
Braiden Weaver’s 16-1 technical fall over Izaiah Vasquez in 1:44 broke a 27-27 tie in the match against State College.

Winkelman wins
PHILIPSBURG — Sophomore Abigail Winkelman won first place for the Central Cambria girls wrestling team at the Lady Mountie Invitational on Saturday.
Lily Fulton and Makenna Smith each were the runner-up in their weight classes for the Lady Devils.

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg’s Connor Sidney and Keegan Hewitt won by fall, but the Golden Tigers fell to Central Mountain, 51-19 in a boys wrestling match Friday.
