BEDFORD — Emma Byers threw a complete-game shutout for top-seeded Bedford in a 3-0 victory over Cambria Heights in the District 6 Class 3A softball quarterfinals on Monday. JOHNSTOWN — A turnaround season for the Portage softball squad came to an end in Monday’s District 6 Class 1A quarterfinal contest at Conemaugh Valley. Hornets survive over Homer-Center

ALEXANDRIA — Juniata Valley built a six-run lead Monday against Homer-Center only to see it evaporate into a 9-9 tie before an error allowed the Lady Hornets to pull in front again, 10-9, in the bottom of the sixth.
