WINDBER — The Central Cambria Red Devils made too many mistakes in the field against the top-seeded Richland Rams, falling 10-4 in the District 6 Class 3A quarterfinals at Windber Sports Complex on Monday. The Red Devils surrendered eight errors in the field, and the Rams took advantage of those run-scoring opportunities. ALEXANDRIA — Juniata Valley built a six-run lead Monday against Homer-Center only to see it evaporate into a 9-9 tie before an error allowed the Lady Hornets to pull in front again, 10-9, in the bottom of the sixth. Valley eventually won by that same score when it got the tying run out at home for the final out in the District 6 Class 1A softball quarterfinals. MECHANICSBURG — The East won both games Sunday in the PSFCA East-West All-Star Games at Cumberland Valley High School’s Chapman Field. Lancaster Catholic running back Brandon Way scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the game to give the East a 19-14 win in the Small School game. Penn Cambria’s Brady Jones threw a 26-yard touchdown pass for the West. The East won the Big School game, 14-10. Hollidaysburg’s Cole DeLattre completed 9-of-22 passes for 121 yards for the West, and the Tigers’ Josh Banks had three tackles.
