BERLIN — The Northern Bedford County High School softball team’s season reached an end on Friday with an 8-1 loss to top-seeded Berlin Brothersvalley in the District 5 Class 1A semifinals. Mylee Mitchell struck out 13 batters for the Lady Panthers, who committed six errors. The Lady Panthers, which finished the season at 12-8, got a two-out single from Callie Miller in the top of the first that scored Emilee Beach to account for the lone NBC run. HERSHEY — The District 6 Class 3A doubles tennis champions lost in the first round of the PIAA Championships on Friday at the Hershey Racquet Center. Hollidaysburg seniors Garrett Bouchard and Felix Xu fell to Dallastown senior Nirvan Joshi and freshman James Anderson, 7-6 (9), 6-3.
