The Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference released its list of All-Conference honorees this week for the winter sports season including basketball, wrestling, swimming and bocce for schools in the Mirror coverage area: Bishop Guilfoyle Academy, Hollidaysburg, Bellwood-Antis, Tyrone, Central, Bishop Carroll, Penn Cambria and Central Cambria.

In boys basketball, the first team in the East included BG’s Taurean Consiglio, Hollidaysburg’s Kasen Metzger and Tyrone’s Eli Woomer. In the west, Bishop Carroll’s Jace Casses and Penn Cambria’s Caden Gibbons made the team. The MVP was Clearfield’s Braison Patrick.

For the girls, the East first team includes Bellwood-Antis’ Lilly Gerwert, who was also voted MVP, BG’s Morgan Ruggery, Hollidaysburg’s Makenna Weimert and Alana Lightner and Tyrone’s Lola Woomer. For the west, Katie George (Central Cambria), Makenna McCoy (Penn Cambria) and Emily Lucko (Bishop Carroll) made the team.

In wrestling, first-team all-conference honors went to Tyrone’s Kyle Scott (189) while Central’s Blair Miller (285) was named second team.

Hollidaysburg’s boys and girls received several first-team all-conference honors in swimming. For the boys, it was Charlie Pollock and Kaden Henderson while on the girls side, the Lady Tigers were represented by Addison Smith, Jaqueline Bevan, Maya Grinberg, Kira Dougherty, Kara Neeley and Margaret Bandstra.

In the sport of bocce, all-conference honors for teams in the east include Sara Dixon and Wyatt Dilling, Central, Parker Lucas and Cooper Lovrich, Bellwood-Antis, Ben Feathers and Ella Sheetz, Hollidaysburg, along with Aiden Zaker and Emma Myers of Tyrone. In the west, Thomas Edmison and Benjamin Primel from Central Cambria, and Penn Cambria’s Aiden Brattz and Luke Michina made the team.
