Panick hat trick gets AAHS hockey win

The Altoona Area High School ice hockey team improved to 5-8 Tuesday night, beating State College, 6-4, in scholastic play at Galactic Ice.

The Mountain Lions, who jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one period, got a hat trick from Carter Panick.

Altoona picked up solo goals from Hayden Hosgood, Parker Mirobelli and Owen Piper.

Shane Bader scored twice for the Little Lions.

Huskies fall short

GALLITZIN — Bishop Carroll’s rifle team is 5-5 after a 1,413-1,266 loss to Everett in high school action at the Gallitzin Sportsman’s Club.

The Huskies were led by Alena Nagle’s 263. Laila Mills led Everett with a 286.
