For the Hollidaysburg Area High School girls soccer program, this season was a case of having a new coach and getting the same very successful results. Playing under the direction of first-year head coach Tristan delGiuidice, the Hollidaysburg girls won their seventh straight District 6 ...

PHILIPSBURG — After the Cambria Heights boys soccer team chanted “we’re going to the ship,” as in “we’re going to the championship,” the Highlanders hoisted goalkeeper Caleb Patterson in the air in celebration. The senior deserved the attention after the District 6 Class 2A semifinal. Patterson made 13 saves and scored a goal in the shootout period as the third-seeded Highlanders knocked off second-seeded Penns Valley, 2-1 (4-2 in the shootout) on Monday at Philipsburg-Osceola’s Mountaineer Stadium. “It feels amazing,” Patterson said. “Our coach informed us ...

NBC got down at the half, and despite numerous prime goal-scoring chances, it came up empty on every single one as the second-seed bowed out of the District 5 Class 1A playoffs with a 5-0 loss to Rockwood ...
