Chestnut Ridge, Meyersdale net District 5 football championships

DAVIDSVILLE — Chestnut Ridge won the District 5 Class 2A championship by blanking Berlin Brothersvalley, 13-0, on Friday night at Conemaugh Township High School. Landyn Pincin scored on a 6-yard run in the first quarter, and Cooper Barefoot had a 9-yard touchdown run in the second quarter for Ridge, now 6-6. Ridge will face Steelton-Highspire in the first round of the PIAA playoffs next weekend. Steel-High won the District 3 2A championship on Friday night, 52-13, over Halifax.
