EBENSBURG -- The Central Cambria Red Devils' offense dominated the line of scrimmage against the Chestnut Ridge Lions, leading them to a 20-9 victory at Central Cambria Stadium Friday night.

The Red Devil offensive line took full control of the game, allowing star running back Ryan Chappell and junior quarterback Mason Pittsinger to find holes and run all over the Lions. This resulted in more than 60 plays from the Central Cambria offense and with a strong run game that took a lot of time off the clock, leaving Chestnut Ridge with just over 30 snaps on offense.

"Our whole team just out-physicaled their team," Chappell stated. "We just drove down the field, taking out their emphasis to play anymore and we just kept going. It was just unstoppable how we ran the ball."

While Chappell stood out, rushing for 152 yards and three touchdowns, he wasn't the only guy making big plays for the Red Devils. Pittsinger accounted for 55 yards on the ground and 46 through the air.

"It all starts up front," Pittsinger said. "I just got to read them and make a cut off them. I wouldn't be able to do it without them. It's not that much me, it's more of them. Shout out to them."

The Red Devils wasted no time getting on the board, marching right down the field capped off by Chappell's first score. Chestnut Ridge responded with a 28 yard field goal from Josh Howsare.

After back-and-forth punts, Central Cambria's offense started moving again, adding another Chappell touchdown before the half, this time from five yards out.

After a long drive out of halftime, Chappell scored his third touchdown in the fourth quarter, making it very difficult for the Lions to come back. They added a touchdown from Jayden Imler, but it was too late to get anything else going.

Drive of the game: Up 13-3, Central Cambria put together a 10 minute drive going 16 plays, capped off by Chappell's third touchdown on the night.

Most vital statistic: Chestnut Ridge had two big plays called back to penalties, including a 40 plus yard run called back on a holding flag. The other was on a kickoff that took them into Red Devil territory. Both penalties took away their limited big plays, making it much harder to score.

Central Cambria coach Wade Klezek: "The way the line was playing, where we were running the football with Ryan (Chappell) and Jack (Dawson), we would get into third and very manageable. Then you get that first down and the clock was just ticking. We kept control and just kept pounding it. It was just a methodical, grinded out kind of offensive attack."

Chestnut Ridge coach Max Shoemaker: "They controlled the line of scrimmage most of the night and we just got to play more physical. Congratulations to them, they've done a nice job."

Records: Central Cambria (5-1), Chestnut Ridge (2-4).

Next week: Central Cambria heads to Forest Hills. Chestnut Ridge hosts Penn Cambria.
