DuBOIS -- Hollidaysburg and DuBois have been getting used to playing each other in their regular season finales and then again in a PIAA Class 5A subregional playoff game.

They met again in the final game of the regular season on Friday night at E.J. Mansell Stadium and Hollidaysburg continued its winning ways over the Beavers with a 51-14 thrashing to spoil senior night.

They'll play again in a subregional game at Hollidaysburg next week.

"Last year, we had a similar win in week 10,"Hollidaysburg coach Homer DeLattre said, "and then we had a very difficult challenge the next week. It's tough to play a team two times in consecutive weeks. I know they'll come ready to play next week.

"Hopefully we can get this game in a different part of the year in the future so we're not playing back to back. It makes it very difficult to play in consecutive weeks in the playoffs. It is what it is right now, so we'll play the hand we're dealt with."

DuBois had no answer for quarterback Vince Albarano, who completed 17 of his 19 passes for 313 yards and six touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Ethan Coke had five receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns, while fellow wideout JJ Stultz caught four touchdown passes.

"We work on our passing game a lot," DeLattre said. "The timing aspect and the pass protection and all of those things that go into a good passing game were really clicking tonight."

Play of the game:  Take your pick, but on the first play of the second quarter Albarano threw a 77-yard touchdown pass to Coke.

Albarano also threw a 64-yard TD pass to Coke right before the first half handed.

"He's awesome," Albarano said. "We're going to miss him a lot, but we're still going. When you get Coke in the open field you can't catch him.

"They're a great team. They're going to come back prepared for us. We're hoping we do it again."

Player of the game: Albarano threw touchdown passes of 10, 30, 13 and 18 yards to Stultz. Albarano's 313 yards came on the heels of a 244-yard passing effort against Williamsport.

"The separation that the receivers were able to get and the linemen giving me all the time in the world to throw is making my job look easy," Albarano said.

Jumping for joy: Between two defenders, the 6-4 Stultz jumped over the defender in front of him to catch an underthrown Albarano pass for his 30-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Most vital statistic:  The Golden Tigers outgained DuBois, 504-87.

No time to pass: Hollidaysburg's defense limited the Beavers to 4 rushing yards and pressured quarterback Seth Wilmoth every time he passed.

"We had a good pass rush," DeLattre said. "He escaped the pocket a couple times. Our secondary did a good job of locking on. I thought we had a good game plan with pressuring the quarterback."

Special teams not so special: While the Golden Tigers were clicking on offense and defense, their special teams struggled. DuBois blocked three extra points and speedy Hayet Muhammad returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown.

Next week: Hollidaysburg and DuBois will play each other next week at Hollidaysburg in a District 2-6-9 subregional.

Records: Hollidaysburg (7-2). DuBois (6-4).
