Lady Lions cruise past Harrisburg in win

HARRISBURG — Altoona jumped out to a 36-11 halftime advantage and went on to down Harrisburg, 55-36, in high school girls basketball action on Wednesday.

Zaelinh Nguyen-Moore led a balanced attack for the Lady Lions, now 16-4, with 12 points, and Brionna Hudson scored 11.

SOMERSET — Cambria Heights knocked off Somerset, 60-50, to improve to 13-9.

ALEXANDRIA — Juniata Valley fell behind 35-21 at halftime en route to a 76-36 loss to Saint Joseph’s.

The Lady Hornets (12-7) got 13 points and 11 rebounds from Anna Taylor. Teammate Mazzy Hartman added 11 points.

Naomi Crispin led St. Joe’s (19-2) with 21 points, followed by Lauren Himes with 20 and Alexia Luckovich with 15 points.

Himes, an Altoona native, went over 1,000 career points Tuesday in a win over East Juniata and has made 251 career 3-pointers.
