Hollidaysburg, Bishop Guilfoyle, Penn Cambria football teams hit the road for PIAA quarterfinals

Each of the remaining high school football teams in the Mirror's core coverage area will have a significant road trip ahead of them when they begin play in the PIAA quarterfinals on Friday.
In Class 5A, undefeated Hollidaysburg will attempt to avenge a loss to Roman Catholic that eliminated the Golden Tigers from the postseason a year ago at the same site of last year's game -- John H. Frederick Field at Memorial Park in Mechanicsburg at 7 p.m.
Penn Cambria will take on District 10 champion Sharon at Clarion University in a Class 3A game on Friday at 7 p.m.
The Panthers beat Hickory in this round a year ago on their way to the PIAA semifinals.
In Class 1A, there will be another rematch. District 8 champion Westinghouse will take on Bishop Guilfoyle Academy at River Valley High School in Blairsville on Friday at 7 p.m.
A year ago in a game between two of the top teams in the classification, the Marauders jumped out to a big lead early and eliminated the Bulldogs on their way to a state title.
Other District 6 games include State College taking on Central Catholic in a 6A quarterfinal at Altoona's Mansion Park on Friday at 7 p.m., and in a 2A game, Richland will take on District 10 champion Farrell at Armstrong High School in Kittanning on the same day and time.
Saturday's games
Arnold Mugerwa has a monster night for Richland to help the Rams avenge their only loss of the season, 14-7, against McCort-Carroll in the District 6 Class 2A championship game at Mansion Park on Saturday.
Mugerwa opened the scoring with an interception he returned 36 yards for a touchdown, and after McCort-Carroll tied the game on a 4-yard touchdown run by Brady Page, he scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 36-yard pass from Jacob Regan.
Alex Bond intercepted a pass in the end zone for Richland to seal the game with 36 seconds remaining.
In a first round PIAA Class 6A playoff game at Bald Eagle Area's Alumni Stadium, D'Antae Sheffey had 126 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead State College to a 52-0 win over Wilkes Barre Area.
