EBENSBURG -- The Central Cambria Red Devils came into Friday's matchup against Johnstown looking for revenge after a close loss last week against Bedford.
Led by a 202-yard performance from junior running back Ryan Chappell, the Red Devils got the job done with a 35-14 victory.
Chappell's night got started early on. With 9:18 left in the first quarter, he took the ball 56 yards to the house for the score.
"O-line was amazing tonight," Chappell said. "I couldn't do it without them."
In the second stanza, Chappell racked up a 17-yard touchdown run to give the Red Devils a 14-point lead going into halftime.
"Ryan is such a team player," Central Cambria coach Wade Klezek said. "He plays so hard whether he's getting the ball or he's blocking for anybody."
Sophomore quarterback Mason Pittsinger completed 80 percent of his passes in the win for the Red Devils.
"As a team, we all performed very well," Pittsinger said. "Shout out to the big boys up front, they really start it off."
Johnstown junior receiver Stephon Hill-Goodman hauled in a 34-yard pass for a touchdown in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, with 5:13 left, Goodman also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass to make it 21-12. Quarterback Ranson Goggins then converted the two-point attempt to close the deficit to 21-14.
Despite the loss, Johnstown gave a good effort throughout the entire game according to its coach.
"My kids battled for four quarters," Johnstown coach Tony Penna Jr. said. "That's all I ask them to do; these kids never quit."
The Trojans are now 0-4. As they search for their first win, the message remains the same.
"My message was absolutely no negativity," Penna Jr. said. "Life keeps going on, and there is a lot to be learned in adversity."
Play of the game: With 4:49 left in the fourth quarter, AJ Galli hauled in a 58-yard pass for the Red Devils.

Unsung hero: Junior tight end John Dill caught a four-yard touchdown pass for the Red Devils to give them a 21-6 lead going into halftime.
Most vital statistic: Central Cambria's 235 total rushing yards.
Klezek: "It's been a great start, but we're not satisfied, though. We want to keep getting better every single day."
Penna Jr.: "These kids are built in such a way that no matter what they keep coming back and try to believe. Our time is coming."
Pittsinger: "The receivers ran great routes all day. When we work, it's going to work."
Notable: Both teams committed a combined 18 penalties for 160 yards.
