On a night when Bishop Guilfoyle Academy honored its 2014 state championship team, BG put on performance Saturday night that might have their fans thinking this year's version of the Marauders is trending in the same direction.

BG blitzed Bellwood-Antis with a trio of first-quarter touchdowns on its way to a 41-12 win on senior night at Mansion Park to remain undefeated at 7-0.

Players of the game: QB Chase Kissell was nearly perfect from the pocket, completing 14-of-16 passes for 264 yards and four touchdowns. He also recovered a first-quarter onside kick which led to BG's third touchdown.

BG coach Justin Wheeler on his quarterback: "He throws the deep ball really, really well. We got some weapons. We like that we can throw the ball downfield, and we can throw it quick a little bit, too."

Hamilton Gates caught six passes for 140 yards and a touchdown, plus had a 1-yard touchdown run to open the scoring. Taurean Consiglio ran for 70 yards and a touchdown, plus had a sack and an interception in the first half, ending consecutive Bellwood drives inside the BG 30.

Kissell: "Our offense over the weeks has gotten better and better. Our line has given me a lot of time. With Taurean running the ball the way he is, teams have to start playing that a little more, and we have so many threats over the top, it's hard to guard both."

BG plays of the game: The Marauders scored on its four possessions, the latter three coming via long pass plays.

On the second possession, Kissell hit Gates deep along the Bellwood sideline. The senior wideout shook off a tackler and raced 51 yards for the score.

Two plays after recovering an onside kick at the Bellwood 48, Kissell found Tyler Lestochi open deep on a post pattern and hit him in stride inside the 10 for the score.

Late in the first half three plays after Consiglio's interception ended a 14-play, 10-minute Bellwood drive, Kissell laid one in Braden Reilly's lap in the front corner of the end zone with a defender on him for a 32-yard score.

Bellwood-Antis play of the game: B-A got on the scoreboard in the third quarter when Holden Schreier sucked the defense in on 4th-and-1 before popping a short pass over the middle to a wide-open Ethan Shawley. Shawley outraced several defenders to the end zone for a 52-yard score.

Vital statistic: Bellwood moved the ball inside the BG 30 on all three first half possessions but came away with no points. Defensive penetration leading to sacks and tackles for loss plus a costly holding penalty kept Bellwood out of the end zone.

Bellwood-Antis coach Nick Lovrich: "We thought we'd be able to move the ball a little bit on them to control the clock and keep their offense off the field. That drive in the second quarter was what we had planned. We just didn't finish. Made some mistakes that need to be corrected. Hats off to them. They're a very good football team."

Unsung hero: Kicker Michael Cacciotti executed the first-quarter onside kick that allowed BG to open up the big, early lead.

Wheeler: "We saw they only put four guys up front, and we wanted to take advantage of that. We worked on a couple different versions of that based on how they might line up. That gave us a lot of momentum and really set us up in the first half."

Records: Bellwood-Antis (5-2). Bishop Guilfoyle (7-0).

Next week: Bellwood-Antis plays Penn Cambria at home. Bishop Guilfoyle hosts Chestnut Ridge.
