A 13-point fourth quarter by Central Dauphin East put the finishing touches on a 34-0 loss for the Altoona Mountain Lions Friday night at Mansion Park.
The Mountain Lions couldn't get out of the way of a potent rushing attack by the Panthers as running backs Avery Romain and Leon Parsons both ran for 100-plus yards.
Altoona quarterback Mark Harrington led the Mountain Lions with 46 yards on the ground and 46 yards through the air.
Altoona's loss marked the third time this season the Mountain Lions have failed to find the scoreboard.
Altoona fell to 0-5 overall.
Play of the game: Romain exploded through the line of scrimmage with a 50-yard touchdown run to start the fourth quarter and put the game out of reach.
Player of the game: Romain rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
Unsung hero: Altoona's Michael Chism had 25 of the Mountain Lions' 46 receiving yards.
Most vital statistic: Altoona allowed seven plays of 20-plus yards or more, five in the second half.
Central Dauphin East coach Lance Deane: "They're well-coached, and they're pretty disciplined. I just think we did a good job capitalizing at times."
Altoona coach Vince Nedimyer: "We have to come back Monday, ready to start working for Bishop McDevitt."
Notable: Tyrease Pearson notched his second sack of the season for the Mountain Lions … The win marked the first time in program history Central Dauphin East started a season 5-0 … Altoona returns to Bishop McDevitt for the first time since 2009 next Friday.
