Central and Northern Bedford both capped off 10-0 regular seasons on Friday and were rewarded on Sunday with the top seeds in their respective districts and classifications.
The Scarlet Dragons are the top seed in District 6 Class 3A and will play the winner of the semifinal game between third-seeded Tyrone at second-seeded Penn Cambria on Friday, Nov. 10 at Mansion Park at 7 p.m.
Northern Bedford is the top seed in the District 5 Class 1A field and will host Meyersdale in a semifinal game on Friday at 7 p.m. Windber travels to North Star in the other semifinal, and the winners will play on a date and location still to be determined.
Hollidaysburg also earned the top seed in D6 Class 5A and will play Central Mountain for the title at 7 p.m. Friday at Mansion Park.
Third-seeded Altoona will travel to second-seeded Mifflin County, a team the Mountain Lions have already beaten, on Friday for the right to play State College in the District 6 Class 6A championship game at Hollidaysburg on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic will begin the defense of its District 6 Class 2A championship in the quarterfinals by traveling to top-seeded Bald Eagle Area, which beat the Marauders at Alumni Stadium in the season opener.
Two other Mirror core-coverage area teams qualified for the postseason in District 6 Class 1A.
Third-seeded Juniata Valley will host sixth-seeded Penns Manor, and fourth-seeded Cambria Heights will host fifth-seeded West Branch in a pair of Heritage Conference vs. Inter-County Conference matchups in the 1A quarterfinals.
Defending champion Northern Cambria is the top seed in Class 1A and will host league foe Marion Center. The 1A title game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 17 at Mansion Park.
