Notable: Bishop Carroll’s Jace Casses was second-team all state as a junior and third-team all state as a sophomore. … Conemaugh Valley defeated Bishop Carroll, 54-48, last season in the District 6 quarterfinals and went on to win the district title. Casses had 22 points in that game and since-graduated Jeremy Dietz led the Blue Jays with 23 points. … That district title was Conemaugh Valley’s second with the first coming in 2010. … Bishop Carroll has won 12 District 6 titles, all in Class 1A — 1994, 1998, 2004, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024. … The Huskies were the No. 5 seed entering the District 6 playoffs with a 10-12 record, but they played just one Class 1A school all year, a 59-51 win over Shanksville-Stonycreek on Dec. 12.
