Bishop Guilfoyle boys roll past Central Dragons

MARTINSBURG — Bishop Guilfoyle Academy jumped out to a 13-point advantage after one quarter and never looked back in a 55-33 win over Central in high school boys basketball on Saturday.

Alex Krimmel scored a game-high 11 points, and Jake Kissell added nine points.

Jesse Muthler and Parker Scott each scored eight points for the Scarlet Dragons.

BG girls lose in OT

WEXFORD — Madison Pullen connected on a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime to lift Oakland Catholic to a 52-49 win over Bishop Guilfoyle Academy in a high school girls basketball showcase game at North Allegheny High School on Saturday.

Anberlyn Petrecca led the Lady Marauders with 14 points, and Morgan Ruggery scored 11 points. Oakland Catholic is one of the top contenders for the PIAA Class 4A championship.

C-K sets mark

LOYSBURG — The Claysburg-Kimmel boys basketball team set a new school record for wins in a season with a 66-49 victory over Northern Bedford on Friday in Inter-County Conference East division action.

The Bulldogs reached win No. 17 on the season which passed the previous total of the 2023-24 team that finished 16-11.

Brayden Haney recorded a team-high 27 points for C-K, while Christian Treon and Blake Kulick posted 10 each.

The Black Panthers received a game-high 35 points from freshman Nevin Lloyd who connected on four shots from 3-point range.
