PORTAGE -- The Portage High School boys basketball team jumped out to an 18-10 first-quarter lead en route to a 63-39 win over Cambria Heights on Thursday.
Portage (15-5) clinched the top seed in the Eastern Division of the Heritage Conference and will host Homer-Center Tuesday in the tournament semifinals.
Bode Layo's 17 points were tops for Portage, while Trae Kargo added 15 to go with 12 from Owen Gouse.
Heights (4-16) was led by Garrett Jasper and Nolan Clawson with nine points each.

Bulldogs win again
CLAYSBURG -- Claysburg-Kimmel won its eighth straight game, improving to 10-9 in a 52-48 win over a 14-4 Forbes Road team.
Brayden Haney's 25 points were tops for C-K, which outscored the Cardinals, 13-2, in the second quarter. Christian Treon added 16 points.
Forbes Road got 23 points from Jacoby Knepper.
