Lady Marauders beat WPIAL Class 6A team

GREENSBURG -- Bishop Guilfoyle Academy held off a rally by defending WPIAL Class 6A champion Norwin in a 53-50 victory in a high school girls basketball game at Seton Hill University on Saturday.

Maurie Querry scored a team-high 13 points, and Anberlyn Petrecca scored 12 points and had a key defensive stop with three seconds to play in the game.

The Lady Marauders improved to 13-2. Norwin, which was ranked third this season in its WPIAL classification, fell to 9-6.

Carroll beats rival

JOHNSTOWN -- Emily Lucko scored 15 points to lead Bishop Carroll Catholic to a 45-42 victory over Bishop McCort Catholic, only the Lady Crushers' second loss in 12 games.

Ava Pablic added seven points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Huskies. Adelyn Myers and Caroline Golden each contributed nine points for Bishop Carroll, which improved to 12-4.

Heights victorious

PATTON -- Sienna Kirsch scored 22 points and Cambria Heights solidified its spot on the top of the Heritage Conference East standings with a 50-41 victory over United on Saturday.

Maelyn Dutko added 13 points for the Lady Highlanders, who improved to 12-5.

Lilly McGinnis scored a game-high 25 points for United.

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Hollidaysburg Area High School is holding Heart Health Night prior to its girls basketball game against Bellwood-Antis tonight.

There will be a CPR training event from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High Auxiliary Gym. Participants will receive a free T-shirt courtesy of G3 Physical Therapy. Attendees who make donations to the Spencer Davis Foundation will receive free admission to the basketball game.
