Escala helps keep Tyrone perfect

HUNTINGDON -- Andrew Escala scored a game-high 29 points Wednesday night to lead the Tyrone boys basketball team to an 85-52 win over Huntingdon in high school action.

The Golden Eagles, who remained perfect at 8-0, also got 13 points each from Ashton Walk and Kendall Lehner. Sam Crilly chipped in with 11 points.

Huntingdon,which fell to 6-4, got 19 points from Ty Boyer to go with 12 points from Caleb Rutter.

Tyrone won the JV game, 52-50, behind 13 points from Owen Oakes.

Blue Devils downed

BELLWOOD -- Bellwood-Antis trailed by just four at the half but a scoreless third quarter and 17 points from Bellefonte led to a 53-21 loss.

Jackson Dorminy's eight points was tops for the Blue Devils, which managed just three points in the fourth quarter.

Comeback win for NBC

WILLOW HILL -- Trailing by eight heading into the fourth quarter, Northern Bedford outscored Fannett-Metal by 13 in picking up a 62-57 win.

Wesley Horsh, who totaled 11 in the final stanza, ended the night with a game-high 22 points for the Black Panthers, while Nate Eckenroad had 18 and Alex Kochara contributed 16.

Panthers pick up No. 4

NEW PARIS -- Penn Cambria is 4-5 after its 71-54 victory over Chestnut Ridge.

The Panthers got 21 points from Brandon Rabish in a game it outscored the Lions, 20-9, in the third quarter to pull away for the win. Blake Lilly added 13 points to go with 12 from Caden Gibbons.

The Lions (7-4) got 16 points from Owen Claycomb.

Layo sparks Mustangs

CLYMER -- Bode Layo registered a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lift Portage to a 72-55 win over Penns Manor.

Owen Gouse came through with 16 points and eight assists as the Mustangs were able to overcome 12 made 3-pointers by PM.
