Bishop Carroll Catholic, which made it to the PIAA Class 1A semifinals and won a District 6 championship this season in boys basketball, was well represented on the Class 1A Pennsylvania All-State Basketball Team.
Senior Luke Repko, who was the Mirror's Player of the Year, made the second team, and sophomore Jace Casses landed on the third team.
"I couldn't be more happy for them both and really proud of them," Bishop Carroll coach Cosie Aliquo said. "I was hoping that they would both have a shot at making all state. It is well deserved. I knew they were two of the best guards in our area. This shows how great of a season we had."
Joining Repko on the Class 1A all-state second team was Williamsburg senior Rowan Gorsuch.
"Rowan making second team all state is incredible," Williamsburg coach Jeff Detwiler said. "As a first-year coach, it was a blessing to have a player of his caliber on the team. Our coaching staff knew early on that he was going to cause teams a lot of problems with his ability to rebound and score. Rowan is a competitor and played a big part in the success we had this season."
In Class 3A, Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic junior Jude Haigh made the second team.
"Hard work is paying off for Jude," Bishop Guilfoyle coach Ryan Lestochi said. "The kid lives in the gym. He works at his craft. He competes in every drill, every sprint, every game. On top of all that he's a great kid. Very proud of him."
Chestnut Ridge's Nate Whysong also made the 3A second team.
In Class 4A, Johnstown's Donte Tisinger made the second team, and in Class 2A, West Branch's Owen Koleno made the second team. Harmony's Jack Bracken, who played in the Mirror Classic, made the first team in Class 1A, and Conemaugh Valley's Jeremy Dietz was third team.
Also in 1A, Berlin Brothersvalley's Pace Prosser was the Player of the Year, teammate Craig Jarvis made the first team and Berlin's Tanner Prosser was Coach of the Year. Fellow District 5 player Bryce Nicholson of Turkeyfoot Valley landed on the third team.
