The Altoona girls basketball team jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the first quarter en route to a 70-39 win over Chambersburg in high school play at the Altoona Area High School Fieldhouse.
Up 57-30 after three quarters, the Lady Lions (16-4) received 21 points from Jaiden Krull, and 14 points from Lanie Wilt to go with 11 each from Melana and Raylin Eyer.
Emily Forrester led Chambersburg (6-13) with 20 points.

EBENSBURG -- Hollidaysburg moved to 18-1 with a 62-53 win over Bishop Carroll.
Bella Vent led the Lady Tigers with 22 points, Lauren Stevenson scored 16, and Clare Padamonsky scored 13.
Adelyn Myers delivered 10 points and seven rebounds for BC, now 7-10, and Tatum Laughard had 13 points.
The Lady Tigers were coming off their first loss of the season from earlier this week, a road game at Williamsport.

Portage prevails
PORTAGE -- Jenna Burkett delivered a career-high 27 points to power Portage past United, 53-44.
Brooke Bednarski scored 11 for the Lady Mustangs, and Alex Chobany scored 10. Delaney Perrone scored 23 for United.
Portage, which improved to 21-1 overall and 15-1 in the Heritage Conference, will host River Valley in the Heritage semifinals on Tuesday.
