WILLIAMSBURG -- LeeAnna Royer capped off an MVP performance with 18 points for Williamsburg in its 57-22 victory over Class 6A Mifflin County in the Lady Pirates Holiday Tournament.
Royer finished the tournament with 35 points, eight assists, five steals and 10 rebounds. Regan Prough won the defensive award, Mifflin County's Maelyn Gingrich won the sportsmanship award and Mackenzie Peachey, Amelia Leister, Laney Prough, Levada Gorsuch and Glendale's Madison Peterson all made the all-tournament team.
Gorsuch added 14 points in the win over Mifflin County.
In junior high action, the Williamsburg girls defeated Bellwood-Antis, 33-19, to win the Williamsburg Junior High Christmas Tournament. Bella Royer was named the MVP after scoring 21 points. Karlie Sweigeirt led B-A with 10 points.
Faith Detwiler (defensive player) and Avery Conlon (sportsmanship) were also honored as well as all-tournament team members Brynn Lower, Bella Strohmeyer, Sweigeirt, Izzy Sloey and Maya Plummer.

Lady Lions triumph
BUTLER -- Altoona defeated Armstrong, 59-45, with the help of a fast start to finish 2-0 at the North Allegheny/Butler Holiday Bash in high school girls basketball on Friday.
The Lady Lions outscored their opponent, 22-7, in the first quarter and got 17 points from Melana Eyer. Zaelinh Nguyen-Moore added 13 points, and Jaiden Krull and Lanie Wilt each added 10 points for Altoona, which improved to 7-3 overall.

TYRONE -- Facing a fourth-quarter deficit, Central rallied to defeat Tyrone, 36-27, in the consolation game of the Reliance Bank/Kiwanis Holiday Tournament.
Megan Diehl led the Lady Dragons with nine points, and Claire Lehman scored a game-high 14 points for the Lady Eagles.
