Tyrone girls clutch at line in beating Juniata Valley

TYRONE — Tyrone went 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final 48 seconds and 14-of-18 for the game to hold on and defeat Juniata Valley, 54-49, in a high school girls basketball game on Saturday.
Jaida Parker led the Eagles with 17 points, and Emma Getz and Stephanie Ramsey each scored 11 points for Tyrone.
Olivia Smith scored a game-high 20 points for the Lady Hornets.

TYRONE — In a game Tyrone led 56-4 at halftime, the Golden Eagles ended up topping WPIAL opponent Indiana, 82-12, in boys basketball.
Damon Gripp scored a game-high 29 points for the Eagles.
Brandon Lucas, who scored eight points against Indiana, also scored 15 points in a win against Penns Valley on Friday. His name was omitted from the box score when it was submitted to the Mirror.
