Notable: A battle between the No. 1 (McCort) and No. 3 (Bellwood) seeds. … This is a rematch of the 2015 championship game won by McCort. … The teams played earlier this season at the Jaffa Shrine Tournament, where the Lady Crushers emerged with a 62-55 victory. … Bellwood beat McCort in the quarterfinals in 2014 en route to just the second District 6 title in program history; the Lady Devils won Class 1A and got all the way to the PIAA finals in 1990. … Swogger and Thomas will be college teammates; both have signed with Saint Francis. Notable: Northern Bedford has advanced to the finals as the No. 5 seed in a six-team tournament, upsetting the fourth (Tussey Mountain) and first (Windber) seeds on the road. McConnellsburg is the second seed. … This is the third meeting of the season between these Inter-County Conference North Division/Sideling Hill League rivals. The Lady Spartans claimed a 62-49 decision on Dec. 19. Northern Bedford evened the score, 57-52, on Jan. 31. Both teams won on their home courts. … Snyder, Leidy and Eckenroad have combined to take 429 3-pointers this season. … Snyder is a 1,000-point career scorer. … Mellott is a three-time all-state selection with 2,264 career points. Notable: Bishop McCort is the top seed, while Bishop Guilfoyle is seeded third. … The Marauders took a head-to-head meeting against the Crushers on Feb. 6, prevailing 71-57 at the Pleasant Valley gym. … Guilfoyle is seeking its first district championship since beating Bishop Carroll in the Class 1A title game in 2013. … Interestingly, the Marauders also won D6 crowns 10 years ago, 20 years ago and 30 years ago among their 11 titles across three classifications. … Trybus, Frederick and Irwin all were key performers on the Marauder football team that won its third straight PIAA title in December. Frederick and Irwin will play collegiately at Delaware and Harvard, respectively. … Ruggery and Trybus have combined to make 103 3-pointers this season. … McCort last won the district championship in 2012, the second of back-to-back D6-2A titles for the Crushers.
