Altoona baseball pulls off late come-from-behind victory

Altoona defeated Central Dauphin in walk-off fashion at Mansion Park on Monday when Talan Palladini drew a one-out bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Altoona a 2-1 victory in high school baseball.

Altoona had tied the game on a solo home run by Tanner Stroup in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs. Carter McConnell pitched seven complete innings for Altoona, striking out nine and allowing only one run.

Eric McAllister got the win with a perfect eighth inning. Brayden Pike led Altoona with three hits, and Sam Harris collected two hits for Central Dauphin.

WINGATE — Riley Bucha went 3-for-4 and drove in six runs to help Bald Eagle Area hold off Tyrone, 11-8.
