HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg avenged its only loss of the season with a convincing 10-0 win over Tyrone in six innings Thursday in high school baseball.

Josh Banks started the game off with an inside-the-park home run and finished the day with two hits and two RBIs.

Mason Mierley walked it off with a two-run single. Mierley finished 3-for-4 and three RBIs on the day. Cole Hartman had three hits and two RBIs, and Vince Boland threw 92 pitches picking up the win while striking out 11.

Altoona suspended

STATE COLLEGE — Altoona scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 7-3 lead, but State College scored four runs in the bottom of the inning without the benefit of a base hit to send it to extra innings.

The game was suspended after eight innings and will be completed when State College visits Altoona on Friday, April 24.

HUNTINGDON — Huntingdon held Bishop Guilfoyle Academy to just one hit in a 15-0 win in four innings.

Evan Edmiston had two hits and three RBIs for the Bearcats. Mikey Hofer had the lone hit for BG.

Gibbons worked four innings, giving up two runs on two hits with eight strikeouts and three walks. On offense, he had two hits and three RBIs. Teammate Evan Latterner added two RBIs for the Panthers (4-5).
