Athlete of the week achievement: Nelson won the boys Outstanding Runner Award at the Bellwood-Antis Invitational after winning the 110- and 300-meter hurdles. He also was part of the winning 1600 relay team for the champion Blue Devils. He then won the 110 hurdles and was second in the 300 hurdles at the Altoona Area Mountain Lion Classic and helped B-A win the team championship.
Season update: Nelson leads the Mirror Honor Roll in the 110 hurdles with a PR time of 15.1 seconds and is second in the 300 hurdles.
Coach Nick Lovrich’s quote: “Cam has had a great season so far. He has been very consistent with his performances in the hurdles and on the two relays he has been on. The last couple weeks he has really stood out with his breaking the school record in the 300 hurdles and his outstanding performances at some big invitationals. He has worked hard to achieve his goals, and we are excited to see how the rest of the year progresses for him. He has been a great leader on our team and a great teammate.”
